Text Box: 2007 Rothenburg Kid’s Program  Saturday Evening (11/17 Approx. 1 hour 7:20 p.m.) This is “Get to know you” night. We will meet with all children together. We will discuss what we will be doing, sing, pray, and just visit! We will all chip-in with ideas, songs and discussion that night.  Morning (11/18 Approx. 2 hours 10-12) Note: There are two different ways you can use the senses. It could be about what we should look like, sound like, smell like, etc…AND you can also look at what we should look TO and listen FOR and etc… There are scriptures for both angles below. The main thing we want to teach is how can they PLEASE GOD with their senses. Topic: The 5 Senses: VISION; to see, to watch, to look Related scripture suggestions: Matthew 5: 14-16 You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Deuteronomy 4:29 If you seek the Lord your God, you will find him. If you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul… Psalms 34:5 Those who look to him are radiant… Proverbs 4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead… Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation… Evening (11/18 Approx. 1 hour) As a group, we will have a short lesson about the exodus. This is the topic the adults are studying and we will share this with the kids. (Possibly will bring in a guest adult speaker)  Morning (11/19 Approx. 2 ½ hours 9:30 – 12) Topic: The 5 Senses: HEARING, LISTENING Related Scripture Suggestions: Deut. 30:20 Listen to his voice and hold fast to him, for the Lord is your life. Proverbs 1:5 Let the wise listen… Proverbs 12:15 A wise man listens to advice… John 10:27 My sheep listens to my voice… James 1:19 Everyone should be quick to listen and slow to speak… James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, DO what it says… John 5:24 Whoever hears my word and belongs to him who sent me has eternal life. Revelations 3:20 If any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. Evening 11/19 (approx. 1 hour 7:20 p.m.) This will be craft night. We’ll combine it with the sense of TOUCH, since we’ll be using our hands and all to make the craft. We will start with a very short devo with scriptures regarding touch. Related Scriptures: Proverbs 10:4 Lazy hands make a man poor… Proverbs 31:20 …virtuous woman (person) opens arms to the poor and extends hands to the needy. I Thessalonians 4:11 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands.  Morning 11/20 (approx. 2 ½ hrs. 9:30-12 Note: Reserve at least 30 minutes of class today for Tuesday night show rehearsal! Topic: The 5 Senses – SMELL, AROMA, FRAGRANCE, TASTE I combined smell and taste since they are so closely related and we will find the least in the scriptures regarding them. Evening 11/20 (approx. 30 minutes 7:30 p.m.) We will get together 15 minutes before performance time to set up kids performance. We are just about the first thing on the agenda for the evening festivities. It is undecided whether we will stay with adults after the performance or return for a final night (approx. 1 hour) together. I’ll keep you posted. If we ARE meeting, it will just be a wrap-up.
